Odotan tuntemattoman tien sivussa, valot kulkevat ohitseni vilkaisematta minuun päin. En pääse pakoon tunteja enkä minuutteja – aika on epämuodostanut maailman ympärilläni. Odottaminen on kokemusta ajan ainaisesta läsnäolosta ja sen liikkeestä ympärillämme, mutta entä jos mikään ympärilläni ei liiku? Kurotan pilviin, kerään unelmat kassiini. Unelmani vierivät katsomon alle, kuulunko minäkin sinne? Olen saavuttanut sen pisteen, että tämä sisäinen jatkuva polte on sammutettava – onko sinullakin jano, minulla on ainainen jano.

 

Huomaa minut, minä odotan – ja jatkan odottamista.

 

 

Esitys on inspiroitunut Samuel Beckettin absurdin teatterin klassikosta Huomenna hän tulee (ransk. En attendant Godot), Nina Simonen vahvasta musiikista ja omasta osittain tuskallisestakin taiteellisesta matkastani tähän pisteeseen.

 

Esitys on jongleeraussoolo, ja tutkii kerrontaa jongleeraustaiteen muodossa. Samalla kun paljon tapahtuu ja aika muuttaa meitä, se mitä odotan ei koskaan tapahdu, näin ollen muutos on illuusio. Seuraava päivä, sama paikka, sama aika – teemana on toivon epävarmuus.

 

 

WAITING IS OVER

Esityksellä ei ole ikärajaa, mutta sen sisältö sopii parhaiten nuorille ja aikuisille. 

 

 

I wait by the side of an unfamiliar road, lights sweeping past without ever even glancing at me. I cannot escape the hours or the minutes of the days — time has deformed the world around me.

Waiting is the experience of time’s endless presence and its movement all around us — but what happens if nothing around me ever moves? I reach for the clouds, gathering dreams into my bag. Yet my dreams slip away, rolling under the crowded stands — do I belong there too? I've reached the point where this constant inner burning must be extinguished — are you thirsty? I am forever thirsty.

 

Notice me, I am waiting - And I continue to wait.

 

The performance is inspired by Samuel Beckett’s absurdist theatre classic Waiting for Godot (En attendant Godot in French), Nina Simone’s powerful music, and my own, at times painful, artistic journey leading up to this point.

 

The performance is a juggling solo that explores storytelling through the art of juggling. While much happens and time changes us, what I am waiting for never arrives; thus, change becomes an illusion. Another day, the same place, the same time — the theme revolves around the uncertainty of hope.
